Capturing a reading

Open the asset you want to capture a reading for and choose "New reading". Enter the value and submit — readings are matched to a specific reading type and are automatically checked against any alert thresholds configured for that asset. Each reading is submitted with a unique client ID, so resubmitting the same capture (for example after a lost connection) never creates a duplicate.
